Review:
"Close Friends" is set in the comparatively recent past. The period details ring true--so many of us can recall those times! The two protagonists are very young married men. Both have sexually unsatisfactory marriages--in very different ways! The novel tracks their growing friendship, as it develops into physical attraction.
There's nothing more erotic than a slow build up to eventual sexual consummation, and it's certainly true of this story. But, be assured, the most intimate details of the lives of the two boys are laid bare from the very beginning. I strongly recommend this as a most stimulating read, right through to the happy ending!
