What The Dickens?
A Murder Mystery
The year is 1945, at the end of the war. Plots and intrigue abound, laced with illicit sex, of all varieties, and several murders most foul!
Can you follow Inspector Bucket and find the murderer?
Arthur, disinherited, meets Compeyson who offers to help him get his inheritance. Compeyson is a cruel sadist who realises Arthur's homosexual secret and taunts/tempts him while also seducing his sister, Amelia.
Here you will find Tiny Tim and the Cratchit family, Dodger, Oliver Twist, David Copperfield, the "expecting" Pip and many other almost-familiar characters.
Murder follows murder and sexual encounters proliferate in this post-war "Dickensian" novel!
The writing style is one of wry humour and contains some references that might amuse some readers of Dickens.
"Outside was a ramshackle, large old van with the words 'Micawber Removals – We Will Turn Up' on the side."
The sex is explicitly erotic – so be warned!
“The man smiled his kindly, handsome smile and Oliver's knees went weak as the man masturbated him vigorously. He lost himself in the man's handsome face, feeling he had found a paternal influence at last, for the first time in his lonely life. "Please, please!" he begged as he felt his climax start deep within his solar plexus.”
Extract:
"As they dressed, they agreed they could never tell Bucket or any other soul of their intimacy. No fellow would understand and just be disgusted at what they would see as perverted lust. But Pip and David knew it was not lust, it was simply the closest a man could get to another man with a brotherly love so pure, nobody else could ever hope to experience."
